Calor awarded Ireland’s most commended accolade in Sustainability and CSR


*Calor Ireland brings unique rural focus to sustainability

Calor Ireland has achieved the Business Working Responsibly Mark for responsible and sustainable business practices. Calor has become one of just 40 companies in Ireland to attain the prestigious Mark, developed by Business in the Community Ireland and independently audited by the NSAI, is based on ISO 26000.

The Mark assesses best in class corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability and looks at leadership, policies, practices, performance, and impact in areas such as; employee engagement, innovation, environmental practices, supply chain management and engagement with the local community.

Calor has a proud history of sustainable innovation in Ireland.   For over 80 years they have been helping homes and businesses across the island of Ireland to transition to lower carbon energy.  In 2018, it became the first Irish energy supplier to make a renewable gas, Calor BioLPG, available to homes and businesses across the island. Calor BioLPG is certified at EU level as offering up to 90% lower emissions than existing LPG products. Using BioLPG also dramatically reduces the level of particulate emissions when compared to coal or oil.

Since joining Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) network in 2018 Calor has shown full support of BITCI’s objective that businesses in Ireland should lead by example, through action, not just aspiration, and tackle the major issues facing our communities, our country and our planet.
