CILT Skillnet, is continuing to listen to businesses in the sector to put in place the training programmes needed to upskill to meet the challenges of the new EU-UK trade agreement

CILT Skillnet has launched a new Import Clearance Processes: Submitting ENS Declarations e-learning course.  The cost of this programme has been significantly subsidised with grant-funding and offered free to businesses. This short, practical, on-demand course will specifically focus on the on economic operators’ responsibilities regarding Entry Summary Declarations (ENS) when importing into the customs territory of the EU and how to complete these declarations in the Import Control System (ICS).

This course is delivered online through eLEARN, CILT Skillnet’s e-learning platform. This 2-hour course comprises two units and a short multiple-choice assessment. Delivered on eLEARN, the course is flexible and can be completed at a time that is convenient for participants.

Attendees will learn the background to safety and security entry requirements for products entering the EU customs territory. They will understand why ENS declarations are needed and the legal requirements of the Supply Chain actors involved. They will also learn how to complete these declarations and submit them to the EU Import Control System (ICS) and how to navigate the common error messages involved in this process. Participants will also understand how to connect to the ICS system when submitting these declarations to Irish customs.
