KESTEREN (THE NETHERLANDS) – D-TEC is expanding its tanker portfolio in the UK with the introduction of the new steered Vacuumliner: an innovative solution designed to combine maximum manoeuvrability with high-volume vacuum transport performance.
Since entering the UK market in 2016, D-TEC has been supplying steered, fixed-axle slurry, and fixed-axle vacuum tank trailers to operators across the agricultural and transport sectors. With the launch of the steered Vacuumliner FV-VAC, D-TEC now bridges the gap between these established tanker concepts.
A new level of tanker accessibility
Developed in response to changing market demands, the new Vacuumliner enables operators to transport substantial volumes from locations that have traditionally been difficult – or even impossible – to access with fixed-axle articulated vehicles. By combining advanced steering technology with vacuum capability, the trailer delivers exceptional versatility and accessibility in demanding operating environments, while also reducing the risk of ground damage during manoeuvring.
Engineered for manoeuvrability and lower TCO
Manoeuvrability lies at the heart of the concept. Built on steering expertise developed by D-TEC since 1987, the company’s proven steering system has demonstrated its value across a wide range of applications. The result is not only improved accessibility and operational flexibility, but also a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through reduced tyre wear, lower maintenance costs, less soil damage and strong residual value.
Designed around operator safety and ease of use
The new Vacuumliner has also been engineered with a strong focus on health, safety, and ease of operation. Smart engineering ensures critical components remain easily accessible for both operation and maintenance. For example, the vacuum pump is positioned at eye level on the side of the tanker for convenient access and improved safety.
Recognising that every operation is different, D-TEC also offers extensive configuration flexibility. Customers can choose right- or left-hand operation and specify accessibility features such as multiple manholes, stair systems, and catwalk configurations to suit their operational requirements.
The first UK Vacuumliner enters production
The first steered Vacuumliner for the UK market has already been sold to FGS Organics, marking another milestone in the long-standing partnership between the two companies.
“We would like to thank FGS Organics for their continued trust and cooperation,” says D-TEC Regional Manager Sjaak Melissant. “This first unit represents an important step forward in tanker transport accessibility and efficiency.”
