DAF has started series production of the XG Electric and XG+ Electric. The Eindhoven-built vehicles combine award-winning, highly efficient electric powertrain technology with superior driver comfort. The first truck, a XG+ tractor with 350 kW/480 hp, will be delivered to the German logistics service provider Hellmold & Plank.
DAF offers a complete series of EV-trucks, which ranges up from a 12 tonne XB Electric for city distribution up to the XG and XG+ Electric for longer haul applications. The XG Electric and XG+ Electric share their DNA with the XD and XF Electric trucks, jointly voted ‘International Truck of the Year 2026’ for their high efficiency, smooth drivelines and excellent driver comfort.
Efficient solution with next level driver comfort
The XG and XG+ Electric are designed for longer-distance transport and bring driver comfort to the next level. The vehicles feature an exceptionally spacious cab with volumes up to 12.5 m3, representing the industry benchmark and offering the best possible working, relaxing, and sleeping environment. The aerodynamic cab design contributes to optimal vehicle efficiency.
The XG Electric and XG+ Electric are available in multiple chassis configurations and feature the highly efficient PACCAR EX-D2 electric powertrain, delivering outputs from 270 to 350 kW (370 to 480 hp) and a maximum torque of 2,400 Nm. The driveline is powered by up to five lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery packs, mounted modularly on the chassis. Depending on the application, ‘zero-emission ranges’ of over 500 kilometres are possible.
Start of production
“The start of production of the XG Electric and XG+ Electric, underlines our commitment to offering zero-emission solutions across a broad range of applications”, stated Harald Seidel, President of DAF Trucks. “Customers such as Hellmold & Plank demonstrate that our electric trucks are delivering strong efficiency and sustainable performances in everyday logistics operations.”
