DPD Ireland adjusts its business methods in account of COVID-19

2996

Express parcel delivery specialists DPD Ireland continues to monitor the Covid-19 situation carefully and is doing everything possible to ensure that it can maintain service while continuing to follow the advice issued by the HSE, WHO and the Department of Foreign Affairs to ensure the health and safety of team members, customers and the general public.

Its parcel collection, sortation, and delivery operations continue as normal.

DPD has implemented the following measures to ensure it maintains service while following the legislation in place;

1 – DPD has ceased passing the driver’s scanner to the consignee to capture a proof of delivery signature.

2 – Consignees can change delivery address from work to home via  Inflight options.

3 – DPD can no longer facilitate Collection from Depots. Please don’t ship parcels for Collection at a DPD Depot. Delivery must be directly to the recipient.

4 – Do not dispatch goods for delivery to locations which are now closed (schools, universities, pubs, restaurants etc) – these will be returned directly to the sender.

Collection and Deliveries in the rest of Europe:

As expected, DPD is experiencing delays with deliveries and collections in Italy and Spain and while we have no reports of delays in other areas as yet, service maybe hampered. DPD will continue to update our customers regularly. As a result of the coronavirus, in total 136 postcodes in Italy, all between the range 24000-26016 had to be suspended from delivery. Please do not dispatch to these postal codes – DPD does not want to impact an already challenged environment and there will be a charge incurred for the return.
