Dusseldorf, Germany: Longer, wider and lower, the fifth generation Volkswagen Caddy received its global premiere at a spectacular launch event

While all the limelight will be on the new version, the current Caddy will remain on sale until early 2021 and will present extremely good value as the production run out begins. Caddy has enjoyed a significantly strong relationship with the Irish market. It’s been Ireland’s best-selling van over the past decade. Just under 15,800 Volkswagen Caddy units have been registered by Irish customers in the past decade alone. New Caddy owners joining the existing 40,000 plus Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Ireland customers across all its products will be well looked after, according to Company Director, Alan Bateson, “When you think about Caddy you think about Ireland’s best-selling commercial vehicle for the last ten years, you think about a best in class product quality with rock-solid residuals.”

“Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ continuing success in the Irish market will be assisted by the arrival of the new Caddy 5 in late 2020, but overall the brand’s success is built on a simple direction, working in partnership with its 40,000 plus customers in the Irish market and delivering the best products, solutions and after-sales service possible, full stop.”

“The new Caddy 5 is a quantum leap forward, and when you combine this development with our Commercial Vehicle retailer network and the solutions they offer, van operators can trust us to work with them to fulfill their commercial vehicle requirements every time.”

Initially, Caddy 5 will be offered with two power outputs from the 2.0 litre TDI diesel – 102hp or 150hp and with a choice of two trim levels – Trendline and Highline.
