The Irizar ie bus Efficient has received the 2026 Bus of the Year award in Spain, a prize awarded by the jury of the National Transport Awards.
The awards ceremony took place yesterday at the Novotel Madrid Center hotel. Iñigo Azcona, Commercial Director for Spain and Portugal at Irizar e-mobility, collected the award on behalf of the company. Irizar e-mobility wanted to thank both the members of the jury and the organisation for this recognition.
The new fully electric vehicle features major improvements in efficiency, capacity, accessibility, comfort, safety, and sustainability, drawing on over 15 years of Irizar e-mobility’s experience in the electric urban bus sector. The new Irizar ie bus Efficient, is the result of the great work done by everyone in the company, to whom this award is dedicated.
This is the fourth time that the jury of the National Transport Awards has awarded this prize to Irizar e-mobility buses. In 2015, the then-called i2e received this award, and three years later, in 2018, the Irizar ie tram earned the distinction, also being recognised as the Eco-Friendly Industrial Vehicle of the Year. And in 2021, the new generation Irizar ie bus won the award again.
The National Transport Awards recognise the best industrial vehicles of the year in Spain. The jury is made up of a broad cross-section of industry professionals and operators from leading transport companies.
