Jo Doherty Drives Success at BradEx: Celebrating a Year of Transformative Growth in FMCG Logistics

Newtownabbey based BradEx is a company excellence in logistics in Ireland, and recently celebrated their first anniversary, marking an extraordinary 12 months of growth and innovation. Leading this success story is Jo Doherty, Co-Director and one of the few women in senior leadership positions in Ireland’s transport and logistics sector.

Since its launch in 2024, BradEx has become a trusted partner to some of the country’s most recognisable brands FMCG brands and multinationals with precision and reliability. Under the leadership of Jo Doherty and her Co-Director, JP Harkin, the company has expanded from 2 trucks and 4 trailers to a fleet of 24 trucks and 30 trailers, transporting 120,000 tonnes of goods across 2.5 million kilometres in its first year. With a team that has grown from 5 to over 40, BradEx is setting new standards in FMCG logistics.

A Trailblazer in Transport

Jo Doherty’s role at BradEx is pivotal. Working from the company’s headquarters, she oversees the business’s commercial, operational and administrative strategy with the support of her ever-growing team. From navigating logistics challenges to ensuring seamless operations for high-profile clients, Jo’s expertise has been instrumental in the company’s success.

“Transport has long been seen as a male-dominated industry, but that’s changing,” Jo Doherty said. “At BradEx, we’re fostering a culture that values diversity, innovation, and teamwork. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished in just one year and excited for the future.”

Jo’s presence in the transport industry is significant at a time when female representation in leadership roles remains limited. According to a 2022 report from Women in Logistics Ireland, women account for only 19% of senior roles in the sector, making Jo’s leadership even more inspiring.

Delivering for Industry Leaders

BradEx’s success lies in its ability to serve the needs of major FMCG clients. From chilled and ambient transport to multi-drop deliveries the company has proven itself as a reliable logistics partner. Its fleet of temperature-monitored trailers ensures that fresh and frozen produce arrives in perfect condition, meeting the highest standards for food retailers.

Co-Director JP Harkin, who leads the company’s fleet operations, remarked, “Our work with global brands reflects our commitment to excellence in every delivery. The past year has been a testament to the dedication of our team, both on the road and behind the scenes.”

A Vision for the Future

With the tagline “Excellence In Logistics,” BradEx isn’t just focused on delivering goods—it’s delivering change. As the company looks ahead to its second year, its ambitions include further expanding its fleet, embracing sustainable transport solutions, and continuing to foster a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Celebrating a Milestone

Reflecting on the company’s achievements, Jo remarked: “Our success is a testament to the incredible team we’ve built, the trust of our clients, and the belief that no challenge is too big. The transport industry has endless opportunities, and I hope more women feel inspired to take on leadership roles in this space.”

BradEx’s rapid rise is setting a new benchmark in the logistics industry, demonstrating what’s possible with bold vision and strong leadership.
