The continuous growth in demand for e-grocery home deliveries is evident with the recent move by supermarket giant Tesco to strengthen its fleet in Ireland with the addition of 63 new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans.
The most connected van ever launched by Mercedes-Benz will now connect Tesco customers with their e-grocery needs across the country. Commenting, Rob Smallwood, Fleet Service Operations Manager at Tesco said: “Fulfilling customer demands in our growing e-grocery business requires a fleet of vehicles that can deliver time and again on our customer commitments, in the new Sprinter we have found that vehicle.”
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 314.43 chassis cabs will soon become a familiar sight on Irish roads making home grocery deliveries for Tesco throughout Dublin, Newbridge, Gorey and in Galway. Each vehicle comes complete with automatic transmission, electric parking brake and MBUX multimedia system with 7-inch touch screen. Refrigerated bodies were fitted by Solomons Commercials with the multi-temp units fitted by Ballinlough Refrigeration on the Naas Road, Dublin.
