The revised Module 1 of the Road Safety Authority’s Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) has just been released. The Module titled ‘Control of the Vehicle and Eco Driving Techniques’ (CVEDT) replaces Version 1.3, and was officially launched on Monday 21st of September. This is the fourth version of Module1 and this (Version 1.4) is now the only official text book to be used for the delivery of all Module 1 training events from that date.
The manual has been updated and reviewed in association with a panel of subject matter experts including drivers, operators, training organisations and representatives of the regulatory authorities. Version 1.4 continues to focus on the promotion of economical and safe driving and aims to provide an update of the latest vehicle trends and industry technologies.
While much of the Module will appear similar to the outgoing version. Version 1.4 includes a look at alternative fuels and powertrains and covers aspects such as gas, electric and hydrogen trucks and buses.
