Local Authorities across Northern Ireland are continuing to invest in Dennis Eagle refuse collection vehicles (RCVs), with a series of new orders highlighting a growing shift towards rear-steer configurations and electric bin lift technology.
Recent fleet commitments from multiple councils underline both sustained demand for Dennis Eagle vehicles and a noticeable evolution in specification requirements. The specifications reflect a broader trend emerging across the region. While 6×4 chassis have traditionally dominated Northern Ireland fleets, operators are increasingly turning to rear-steer variants to improve manoeuvrability, particularly in tighter urban environments. At the same time, demand for electric bin lifts is rising as councils look to align fleet operations with sustainability targets.
