PICTURE OF THE WEEK Mercedes-Benz Sprinter takes the call from Ghostbusters!

  • The iconic Mercedes-Benz Sprinter takes a role in Sony Pictures’ upcoming film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire as the transformed ECTO-Z to help save the world from a second ice age
  • Mercedes-Benz Vans will accompany the release of the movie with a co-promotional campaign featuring a range of social-media activities built upon behind-the-scenes footage
  • Ahead of the premiere, fans were able to interact and take photos of the vehicles staged at the original New York firehouse from the movie “Hook & Ladder Company 8” in New York City. The building will be wrapped in a special frozen look on the outside for two weeks.

A specially adapted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, joins the Spengler family as they team up with the original Ghostbusters to save the world in the upcoming film, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. Returning to where it all started – the iconic New York firehouse – the original Ghostbusters developed a top-secret research lab to take busting ghosts to the next level. When the discovery of an ancient artifact unleashes an army of ghosts that casts a death chill upon the city, Ghostbusters new and old must join forces to protect their home and save the world from a second ice age. Complementing the Ghostbuster crew is the new team member: a one-of-a-kind engineering Sprinter called ECTO-Z.

ECTO-Z features a special pull-out rack that carries equipment, such as Proton Packs, Ghost Traps and Muon Scrubbers, to gear up all Ghostbuster members. The versatile Sprinter offers supernatural storage and flexible space ideal for the monstrous upfit inside the back of the vehicle. Prepared for the most critical weather conditions – seat heating included – and geared with advanced assist systems, it ensures confidence on icy roads and flexibility for any ghost hunting job, regardless of the prevailing condition. The ECTO-Z is the only official engineered Ghostbuster vehicle next to the beloved 1984 ECTO-1.
