Global logistics service provider the Rhenus Group continues with its sustained business growth strategy following the takeover of chemical transport specialist C+G Logistics.
Headquartered in Mulhuddart, County Dublin, C+G Logistics has more than 40 years’ experience in handling raw materials, ingredients and chemicals, enabling the Rhenus Group to further its already well-established position within the chemical sector.
The acquisition enables additional expansion of the services Rhenus Ireland can offer to its growing customer base across the country. The C+G facility also provides full Seveso capabilities with 5,000 square metres of dedicated hazardous goods storage. C+G has built a strong reputation on its ‘customer-centric’ approach, an ethos which mirrors the Rhenus Group business strategy, making for a perfect marriage between the two companies.
The addition of C+G Logistics coupled with the recent rebrand of Avant Air & Sea (acquired by Rhenus in October 2018) to Rhenus Air & Ocean illustrates the company’s ability to embrace the continued growth and demand increase across Ireland’s logistics sector. Further acquisitions are in the pipeline and will be announced soon.
Commenting on the company expansion, Declan Sinnott, Managing Director at Rhenus Logistics Ireland, said: “The acquisition of C+G Logistics is a milestone in the ongoing development of Rhenus in Ireland, and we’re delighted to expand the scope of services we can offer our clients, both existing and new.”
Patrick Wogan, General Manager of C+G, added: “Joining the Rhenus family is an important step for our business, opening up new service provisions for our client base. We are delighted to be starting 2020 with the support of a global organisation behind us.”
