The Freight Transport Association Ireland’s (FTAI) Trucksafe Standard Certification has been recognized by the Road Safety Authority’s Leading Lights in Road Safety Award programme.

The Standard, which was created and implemented in close partnership with the Association’s member businesses, assists companies running commercial vehicles on Ireland’s roads to achieve continuous operational compliance and drives up safety levels across the logistics industry.

“We are thrilled to receive this award from the Road Safety Authority (RSA),” said Aidan Flynn, Chief Executive at FTAI, “As it acknowledges all the hard work undertaken by members nationwide to ensure the continued safety of their staff, as well as other road users.  Our industry is one of the most heavily regulated in the economy, but it is vitally important that levels of professionalism and compliance are maintained across the sector – the Trucksafe Standard provides guidance and reassurance for businesses to keep their processes on track, and vehicles on the road.”

“Our members, which represent businesses from all sectors of the economy, have worked closely with stakeholders to develop and implement the standard, and they should all be very proud of the work they have done to receive this award.  Our members are always striving for excellence in all that they do, and it is wonderful to see their efforts recognised by this award.”

The RSA’s “Leading Lights in Road Safety” Awards, now in their 13th year, recognises and honours the contribution made by businesses, individuals and groups from all over Ireland to reduce serious injuries and deaths on the nation’s roads.
