Scania UK is showcasing its strength in innovation at this year’s Road Transport Expo (RTX).
From the latest, powerful and efficient vehicles designed to help operators do their day-to-day jobs, through to the latest technological advances, including the latest generation of driver assistance aids.
There’s also a glimpse to the future, with Scania displaying one of the autonomous trucks used in the viral Red Bull jump on the stand (B11).
Away from the vehicles, Scania will also be demonstrating how it supports operators with its comprehensive suite of tailored service solutions, to help customers maximise uptime and operational efficiency.
This will take form as part of a new Scania Complete Solutions campaign, which unites all of Scania’s innovative tailored service options – designed to support and suit a customer’s individual needs.
Powerful and efficient vehicles
Scania is keen to showcase its full range of vehicles – the most powerful and efficient line-up its ever had. Each ready to help customers deliver on their ambitions – every day.
From battery-electric vehicles through to gas and a variety of diesel/HVO options, there is a vehicle for every operator – no matter where they are on their decarbonisation journey.
On display and the ride drive are a couple examples from Scania’s battery electric vehicle range – in the form of a skip loader – 24 P and a tractor unit – 40 P. Scania’s battery electric range is now available with a variety of cabs, electric machines, axle lengths and vehicle and battery configurations – for customers to choose from – giving them the ultimate flexibility, thanks to Scania’s trademark modular design.
Meanwhile, for those interested in gas, Scania will have its popular and innovative R460 6×2*4 CNG gas truck on the stand and the ride and drive. Giving visitors their chance to see and experience Scania’s first 6×2 gas truck first hand.
Also on display will be Scania’s most efficient diesel engine ever – in 13-litre SUPER form. It offers strong performance with attractive fuel economy, thanks to some clever technology – including significant efficiency gains across the whole powertrain from the engine and gearbox to the rear axle.
Innovation doesn’t end with the vehicles
Away from vehicles, Scania is giving visitors a glimpse of the future – by displaying one of the autonomous trucks from Scania’s viral feat with Red Bull last year.
In a real display of innovation, Scania will be reliving the daring jump with Red Bull, where mountain biker Matt Jones leapt between two moving trailers being pulled by a pair of autonomously driven Scania trucks – without a driver inside.
Scania’s subsidiary charging company, Erinion, will also be in attendance. Beyond showcasing their new bold branding, they will be demonstrating how they can help support, develop and build depot charging infrastructure to suit a customer’s needs.
And wrapping up the Scania story at RTX this year, is the launch of a new campaign called ‘Behind Every Delivery’, which will proactively promote Scania’s total support services portfolio, which aims to provide customers with the servicing answers they need to achieve their goals and to avoid any maintenance pain points in their daily operations
