County Monaghan is renowned the world over for industrial innovation for decades, especially when it comes to material handling equipment connected with road transport.
Heavy lift equipment specialist Megalift is well known for the design and manufacture of its container handling equipment, otherwise known as the Megalift side-lifting trailer (SLT) .
The latest edition to the Megalift range is the new Megalift-XL boasting an impressive 40 tonne lifting capacity and features a newly designed telescopic-jib, which allows it to double stack fully loaded containers to maximise storage capacity.
The Megalift XL has been developed for a large pharmaceutical client with container handling challenges. As a mobile system, the Megalift can easily be deployed across multiple locations, offering flexibility and efficiency that significantly streamlines their operations. The ability to adapt to various sites without relying on extensive infrastructure or set-up charges allows the customer to operate instantly and more effectively and efficiently.

With additional elements including a new top-lift that eliminates manual handing and any need for working at height when double stacking. With the top-lift permitting the Megalift XL to lift and deploy containers from the comfort and safety of the truck ensures that it is operator friendly and delivers increased container movements he added”
Meredith explained some of the challenges presented by the customer included operating on very poor ground conditions typically not suited to Reach stackers or Straddles.
The new Megalift-XL machine has the ability to tranship fully loaded containers from one chassis to another which makes it a viable option for clients looking to handle containers at these multiple locations.
