Attractions a plenty await visitors to the Connacht Truck Show 2022 at the Claremorris Equestrian Centre on Sunday, 5 June.
Truck enthusiasts, truck operators, drivers and customers are welcome to attend this admission-free, one day event held over the public holiday weekend.
Organised by Fleet Transport magazine, this second running of the Connacht Truck Show, will premiere a number of new trucks to enter the Irish market in recent weeks.
The New Generation DAF XF & XG flagship models, reigning International Truck of the Year 2022 Award winners will be on display, through local dealers Galway Truck Centre. These new heavy-duty powered by the PACCAR MX-13 12.9-litre Euro 6D diesel engine, can also be fuelled by HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil); a drop-in alternative to diesel requiring no vehicle modifications and delivering a 90% reduction in CO2 emissions from well-to-wheel compared to regular diesel.
Renault Trucks Ireland, through local dealer Shaw Commercials (Castlebar) will give the first Irish Show debut to the new Renault T-High 520 6×2 demonstration tractor-unit, following in the wheel tracks of the Cú Chulliann Special Edition and likewise, also kitted out with a host of extras such as front air-suspension, Dura bright alloys, side-skirts, catwalk, microwave, TV, work lights, Kelsa light bars with Boreman spots and stunning paintwork by Hollywood Signs. This once off version created a stir at the big Truckfest Show in Peterborough recently.
The latest version of the recently launched Fiat Professional Ducato will also be on display near the DAF Trucks, with representatives from Galway Truck Centre on hand to highlight the high levels of technology fitted.
In addition, the 2022 event, which has My Canine Companion as the dedicated fund raising charity, a number of other interesting elements feature such as Haulage Trucks Displays; a Vintage Trucks Jamboree; and special tributes to three decades of the Renault Magnum, fifty years of Volvo Trucks in Ireland and a tribute to the famed Scania V8 powertrain.
For the young and young at heart visitors, there will also be some activities to get involved in such as pony rides and other fun elements.
There will also be a number of food stalls and refreshments available as well as various prize draws for the attendees to enter. Parking for campervans and caravans is also available on site.
The Show venue, Claremorris Equestrian Centre, located just off the N17, 1km from Claremorris town centre is the perfect location for the event, providing ample display areas for the trucks and vans, visitor parking and trade stands plus plenty of space for kiddies activities.
The Connacht Truck Show 2022 will feature trucks of all ages, shapes and sizes. Not only will it feature vehicles from road transport operators from all around the province, but many exhibitors will be travelling from further afield, with a number of hauliers crossing the Irish Sea to come to the ‘Heart of the West’ to exhibit their everyday working trucks. The big prize ‘Top Truck of the Show’ – selected by show visitors, will once again be dedicated to local truck driving legend, the late Paddy Kelly. There will also be dedicated prizes for the Best Truck Brand from each of the main manufactures, i.e., Best Scania, Volvo, DAF, MAN, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Iveco etc.
As well as shining modern day trucks, proud owners of vintage and classic trucks are also keen to attend.
