Texaco’s high performance synthetic heavy-duty diesel engine oil, Texaco Delo 400 XSP-SD – SAE 5W-30 is now listed with approval from Mercedes-Benz Trucks, to meet its 228.51 specification.

This latest manufacturer specification for the gas engine oil sees Mercedes-Benz join Cummins, Renault Trucks, Deutz and Volvo among those who approve the product, which is designed to provide improved fuel economy, high performance extended drain engine wear protection and optimum engine service life.

It is this fuel economy and extended drain formulation which allows Texaco Delo 400 XSP-SD – SAE 5W-30 to fully meet the tough performance requirements of many four-stroke naturally aspirated and turbocharged engines in the on-highway, off-highway and construction sectors.

Featuring ISOSYN technology, which uses low SAPS to meet Euro VI emission requirements, Texaco Delo 400 XSP-SD – SAE 5W-30 is suitable both for use with many after treatment systems and is also recommended for use in older engines. It is formulated for high performance with many fuels including low sulphur and ultra-low sulphur diesel fuels, and many biofuel formulations.

As a low viscosity synthetic base oil, Texaco Delo 400 XSP-SD – SAE 5W-30 promotes cold engine start wear protection for engines operating in sub-zero temperatures and includes advanced dispersant and detergent technologies developed for soot dispersancy and wear control, helping to keep piston rings, valve and piston lands clean, and improve uptime.

The product helps minimise Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) emission control system cleaning and offers improved service life with its advanced synthetic base stocks and additives offering extended drain through wear, oxidation, sludge and oil thickening control.
