Prominent road transport and shipping specialists, operating on both sides of the Irish Sea, Gwynedd Shipping Ltd (GSL), has successfully switched to TruTac’s compliance software, covering procedures relating to tachograph analysis, debriefing drivers and management reporting, all of which are completed faster and easier.
Based in Holyhead, North Wales, Gwynedd Shipping, with a fleet of 87 tractor units and over 650 trailers, provides a wide range of transport solutions, including aerospace, automotive, chemical, construction, events and exhibitions, FMCG retail, forestry, manufacturing, paper and packaging, pharmaceutical and steel.
“With such a diverse operation,” explained Group Transport Manager Howard Owen, “We need to embrace multiple skill sets to safely and securely handle virtually every type of cargo. Also, each industry sector presents its own unique challenges, which require close vehicle and driver monitoring to maintain the highest levels of safety and commercial efficiency.”
To help achieve this, GSL replaced its existing software system with TruTac’s TruAnalysis module – for easier and more accurate tachograph analysis and management, driver debriefing, compliance control and instant drivers’ hours reporting.
“For example, we have 5 depots strategically located throughout the UK and Ireland,” continued Howard, “And our delivery routes are literally changing every hour of the day. Using the TruTac system however, we can see any driver’s hours on screen and determine at a glance if there is time available to accommodate a new assignment. This is perfect for route planning, Working Time Directive considerations and of course, good customer service.”
Among other features, TruAnalysis includes intuitive navigation; auto reports; DVSA Earned Recognition reporting; multi-site and divisions control and secure online document storage and retrieval.
