Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles sharpens its B2B focus at the IAA Transportation 2026

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) is sharpening its focus as a B2B mobility brand at the IAA Transportation 2026 (15 to 20 September) in Hanover. The focus is on professional customers, their daily operations and their business success. After all, a vehicle only generates value for a business when it is ready for use. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles therefore combines a broad product portfolio with digital services, individual body solutions and future technologies. The central element here is “Connect Pro”, a new B2B ecosystem that links the vehicle, fleet, driver, workshop and business processes and creates the basis for predictive service and high vehicle uptime. At the same time, VWCV is hosting five vehicle premieres and also showcasing its “Intelligent Loading Space”, autonomous mobility and transport services, and the finale of the ID. Buzz World Tour.
Expansive portfolio for professional customers: The new Caddy, the new Multivan and the new long-wheelbase ID. Buzz Cargo will take central stage at the heart of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles stand. They emphasise Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles’ ambition to offer the right solution to suit a variety of professional requirements. The Caddy and Multivan impress with features such as a new front-end design including new LED headlights, a brand-new cockpit landscape including the latest infotainment systems and cutting-edge assist systems such as “Travel Assist” with new traffic light recognition1. The two bestsellers will be presented as exclusive Generation special-edition models. The ID. Buzz Cargo with a long wheelbase (LWB) is a new addition to the range. Its luggage compartment is larger at 4.4 m³ and it offers a payload capacity of up to 697 kg. Pre-sales of the ID. Buzz Cargo LWB with rear-wheel or all-wheel drive will start shortly this autumn.

Strengths in leisure-focused vehicles remain part of the brand: Alongside the sharpened focus on B2B, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles remains a leading brand for leisure and camping vehicles. Creating its own California World, VWCV will be showcasing its technically and visually upgraded California based on the extended Multivan. And, in what will be a world premiere, it will be showcasing the new ABT California Ocean, a customised model developed in conjunction with tuning specialist ABT. Equipped with a carefully-planned kitchenette, pop-up roof and four beds in total, the ABT camper van features a newly designed front apron, unique alloy wheels and a special ABT decal.

The Connect Pro digital B2B ecosystem: For professional customers, it is not just the vehicle that matters; the vehicle also needs to be reliably ready for use and support business processes. This is exactly where “Connect Pro” comes in. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles consolidates it digital business customer solutions within a networked ecosystem and connects vehicles, fleets, drivers, workshops and business processes. Fleet operators enjoy transparency surrounding vehicle status and maintenance requirements. The system also supports predictive service, using data to support earlier decision-making that can help to prevent downtime. Connect Pro also forms the basis for further solutions, from charging and energy management to intelligent charging spaces and future autonomous services. At the IAA Transportation, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles will be showcasing this new ecosystem in combination with the new Caddy Maxi, the new Multivan, the e-Transporter Kombi and the Caravelle.

Intelligent Loading Space: Using a Crafter as an example, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is demonstrating how networked solutions can make professional customers’ daily routines easier and more efficient. The intelligently networked load compartment of the future should be able to record equipment and loads, document processes, simplify logistics and link information to orders or fleet processes. By helping to make the required tools available in the vehicle at the right time, the Intelligent Loading Space contributes to the vehicle’s productivity and availability. The vehicle, its inventory and digital services are intelligently connected within Connect Pro.

Autonomous mobility as a scalable B2B solution: With its Autonomous Delivery scenario, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is demonstrating how autonomous technology can bring about new mobility and transport services in the future. Developed together with MOIA and the technology partner Mobileye, the ID. Buzz AD is being tested in Europe and the USA as an autonomous driving service in the field of “Mobility as a Service” (MaaS). With the ID. Buzz Cargo AD, VWCV is expanding its view of “Transport as a Service” (TaaS), for example to incorporate urban deliveries, spare parts logistics or food transport. The focus here is on reliability, scalability and availability. The solution can help to address challenges such as driver shortages, rising operating costs and growing demand for urban delivery services. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and MOIA will be presenting the latest stage of developments in Hanover for the first time.

From vehicles to tailor-made business solutions: For many professionals, the basic vehicle is just the beginning. In the Customised Solution scenario, VWCV is combining the vehicle, body building expertise, technical integration, digital services and after-sales support. Examples at the IAA will include the new e-Van platform truck with a double cab. On its 4.2 m2 loading area, it can transport large quantities of material, while the double cab can transport six people to construction sites or forestry operations with zero local emissions. Three power levels as well as rear-wheel or all-wheel drive are available. Other solutions include the long-wheelbase e-Caravelle as a taxi, various Crafter models, an e-Transporter as an ambulance and an Amarok as a fire brigade command vehicle. The goal? An overall solution that reliably supports the customer’s specific requirements.

The ID. Buzz World Tour as proof of reliability: After driving almost 100,000 kilometres through 93 countries across six continents, professional globetrotter Rainer Zietlow will return to Hanover on 14 September in his record-breaking long-wheelbase ID. Buzz (planned arrival: 12:30 p.m. at the outdoor VWCV stand on Expo-Allee). Hanover was the starting point for his ID. Buzz World Tour back on 1 July 2025. Never before has such a large number of countries been visited in a single tour using an electric car. Rainer Zietlow and the ID. Buzz have therefore earned themselves a place in the history books with this world record, verified by “Guinness World Records”. All of its stops – watch live at www.idbuzz-worldtour.com – have been documented, with its journey taking it from Germany through Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, South and North America and the Middle East – all without an entourage of engineers. The ID. Buzz had the standard 86 kWh battery on board. An AC-DC onboard charger was retrofitted for various charging systems outside Europe, while Zietlow also made sure he packed adapters to suit the various charging stations. A built-in mattress allowed the team to sleep in the vehicle. Extra-durable wheels from project partner Maxion Wheels were fitted with standard EV tyres from Giti Tire. The tour highlights the vehicle’s focus on two things that business customers really rely on: Reliability and availability. On its way around the globe, the ID. Buzz didn’t experience a single technical breakdown.
