Fee Adjustments for Road Safety Authority (RSA) Services to take effect from 1 January: East Link Bridge toll increases

As part of business planning for the coming year, including planned €18m expenditure on public interest activities and government priorities, there will be adjustments to fees for a number of Road Safety Authority (RSA) services, effective January 1, 2025.

These will be the first changes to costs of services since 2012, and in some cases since 2011.

The following fee adjustments will take effect from January 1, 2025:

  • Driving Licence: Increase from €55 to €65
  • Learner Permit: Increase from €35 to €45
  • Full Test under the National Car Test: Increase from €55 to €60
  • Retest under the National Car Test: Increase from €28 to €40
  • Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test: 15% increase in the pre-VAT cost

  • SI 674/2024 – Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness (Vehicle Testing) (Amendment) Regulations 2024

In addition: Tom Clarke Bridge toll rate increase

Dublin City Council would like to remind the public that the toll rates on the Tom Clarke Bridge (formerly the East Link Bridge) will be increasing by 10 cent from January 1, 2025.

This is an automatic increase as per the Bye-Laws and is in line with the Consumer Price Index.

Dublin City Council will be erecting signage at the toll bridge to notify motorists of the change.
