The CTTC, which represents private bus & coach operators in Ireland have hit the ground running in 2026. Issues and events being worked on at the moment.
*Following the CTTC’s lobbying efforts, the Government have committed to drafting new legislation to reform the system, and accordingly it is included in the Government’s Spring legislative agenda. This is a significant win for the CTTC and we will continue to engage with the Government to ensure our input into the reforms. Also of note will be new legislation relating to the National Transport Authority. Further details below.
*LPSV (Large Public Service Vehicles) Reform Bill – To ensure an effective licensing and regulatory framework for the LPSV sector.
*Dublin Transport Authority (Amendment no.2) Bill – To extend the National Transport Authorities’ (NTA) transport planning remit to the regional cities and related amendments. Also to include provisions relating to NTA’s role in a Transport Security Force.
Coach & Bus Show 2026
Campion Insurances is to continue the sponsorship arrangement with the CTTC, and will again be the headline sponsor of the show. The event will be held at the RDS, Dublin from 27-28 November.
Slane Concerts – Parking
CTTC member and former Chairman John Halpenny is engaging with Meath County Council on coach parking arrangements at the forthcoming Slane concerts.
Insurance Reform – Practical Measures for Managing Health and Safety in the Organisation
Allianz is hosting a one-hour webinar on Wednesday, 28th January at 10am.
The session will cover:
- A brief overview of your legal responsibilities as an employer
- Practical tips to ensure compliance (health and safety is more than just a policy!)
