CTTC, which represents private bus and coach operators in Ireland has hit the ground running in 2026, here is some of what it is working on.
Following the CTTC’s lobbying efforts, the Government has committed to drafting new legislation to reform the system, and accordingly it is included in the Government’s Spring legislative agenda. This is a significant win for the CTTC and will continue to engage with the Government to ensure input into the reforms. Also of note will be new legislation relating to the National Transport Authority. Further details below.
LPSV (Large Public Service Vehicles) Reform Bill – To ensure an effective licensing and regulatory framework for the LPSV sector.
Dublin Transport Authority (Amendment no.2) Bill – To extend the National Transport Authorities’ (NTA) transport planning remit to the regional cities and related amendments. Also to include provisions relating to NTA’s role in a Transport Security Force.
Coach & Bus Show 2026 – CTTC is delighted to report that Campion Insurances wish to continue their sponsorship arrangement with the CTTC Coach & Bus Show, and will again be the headline sponsor of the exhibition.
