A Good ‘DAF’ Day for Sligo Haulage & Distribution

Good Friday in 2026 was a special day for Sligo Haulage & Distribution, as the former Fleet Transport Irish Haulier of the Year, family run company received four brand new fully equipped DAF XG 530 6×2 tractor-units, from DAF Distributors Ireland (Dublin). To make the day even more momentous, this handover marked 20 years since Managing Director, Stephen Mullen, collected the first DAF to enter the fleet on Good Friday in 2006.

Sligo Haulage & Distribution is a transportation, distribution and secure warehousing company based in Tubbercurry, County Sligo, offering a variety of transport services from next day delivery to specially arranged out of hours deliveries.

These four new high-specification units, powered by the Paccar MX-13 530 hp diesel engines, mated with a 12-speed ZF TraXon automated transmission are a welcome addition to the fleet, ensuring efficient transportation across the country.

Additional trim and embellishments were undertaken by Steen Commercials (paintwork and livery) and DAF TRP (lighting and headboards).
