Contrary to some press and social media reports, DHL Express is happy to confirm that services to and from Ireland continue to operate as normal. All inbound and outbound flights are operating to schedule and record volumes have been handled during this peak period in the run-up to Christmas.
From a DHL Express perspective, the only change that has occurred (effective from Monday 21 December) is a temporary suspension of road based services to and from mainland Europe. This is as a result of the closure of the Eurotunnel and Ferry ports and the expectation is that this service will be reinstated as soon as the Eurotunnel reopens.
Separately, Deutsche Post DHL Post and Parcel divisions, announced that they have temporarily suspended services into Ireland; please note however that these shipments are not handled by DHL Express in Ireland.
