“The training landscape has changed because of COVID-19. It is essential that we change with it. CILT Skillnet will soon launch a new eLearning platform,” states Mick Curran, Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Institute of Transport & Logistics (CILT).
“Our aim to provide the highest quality training and education courses for the wider logistics sector, on a digital platform. Courses will be accessible 24/7 from anywhere with an internet connection. The media-rich, interactive content will be created by professional trainers and subject matter experts who will also provide support to the course learners throughout the training. We’re really excited about this new development and will bring you more information on it in the coming weeks” he said.
GDP Upskilling Initiative
CILT Skillnet recently launched a new GDP Upskilling Initiative.
The aim of this initiative is to support businesses in the Supply Chain sector with significantly increased subsidies for new GDP training. “The initiative is open to businesses in the supply chain sector wishing to upskill employees who have not previously completed GDP training. Under this initiative, our 3 GDP courses delivered by the Irish Exporters Association are being subsidised up to 50%,” explained Mick.

COVID-19 National Logistics Forum Resources Database
CILT Skillnet is supporting CILT Ireland and the National Logistics Forum in promoting the COVID-19 National Logistics Forum Database.
The purpose of the database is to match organisations together so that those who have capacity can help those in need, by making available staff, vehicles and expertise to support the supply chain. This information will be available to all and will result in spare capacity being utilised and our supply lines kept open.
