FIAA to host the Minibus of the Year Award Ceremony

The International Bus and Coach Trade Fair, FIAA 2024, organised by IFEMA MADRID will hold its fifteenth edition from 22 to 25 October. The prestigious Minibus of the Year Award organised by the Autobuses & Autocares magazine in collaboration with the event itself will be held on 22 October.

In the days leading up to the fair, the preliminary phase of the fourth edition of the European Minibus Euro Test (MET 2024) competition will take place.  These tests focusing on the urban transport minibus segment, will be used to select the Minibus of the Year 2025 award winner.

On this occasion, participating vehicles must be new or restyled that have been on the market for less than two years, have a maximum length of eight metres and be powered by any type of propulsion.

Over three days, the Jury will examine each participating minibus, including, among many other aspects, performance, interior and exterior design, safety, passenger and driver comfort, integrated solutions or behaviour along an especially designed transport route. In total, between the Jury and the participating brand teams, the competition brings together around 60 industry professionals from all over Europe.

The European Minibus of the Year award is an initiative of the Jury of the international Bus & Coach of the Year awards. FIAA supports both the presence of the Jury in the capital of Spain, as well as the celebration of the tests that serve to choose the winner among the participating vehicles. The Jury is comprised of 23 publications specialising in road passenger transport from several European countries.

In the three previous editions of the Minibus of the Year, held in 2017, 2019 and 2022, the winners were from the manufacturers Iveco Bus with the Daily Tourys, Mercedes-Benz with the Sprinter City 75 and the Spanish company with its Shaula model respectively. Fleet Bus & Coach is represented on the jury by Sean Murtagh.
