All change in 2024 – Industry veteran Frank Schnelle joins the Association of European Vehicle Logistics
ECG has great pleasure in announcing the appointment of industry veteran Frank Schnelle as the successor to Mike Sturgeon who announced his intention to retire, on reaching the age of 64, several years ago. Frank will join the finished vehicle logistics European trade association in April to begin a planned handover period before Mike steps down, ensuring a seamless transition. In the meantime Frank will already be visible at ECG’s events as he begins his integration.

A senior and well-known figure in the industry with some 30 years of experience under his belt Frank, 50, is expected to bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the role as ECG continues to grow and develop. He said “Since its establishment, ECG has demonstrated immense value, not only for its members but also for the entire FVL industry. A fact that has become particularly evident in recent years. It is both an honour and a commitment to take on the leadership of the association. I look forward to working with the team to continually advance the association in the best interest of our members.”

ECG President delighted with the appointment

The announcement concludes several lengthy recruitment rounds and secures the future leadership of ECG for the coming years. Wolfgang Göbel, president of ECG for more than 7 years, said “After a more than successful and intense decade with our Executive Director Mike Sturgeon we are delighted to announce the imminent arrival of Frank Schnelle in the ECG team as the appointed successor of Mike in due course”.
