As displayed recently at Dublin Castle, An Garda Síochána procured two water cannons (BAI ARV 6200 Water Cannons Vehicles) in late 2024 which are now available for deployment. Based on the Iveco Eurocargo medium duty 4×2 rigid truck, the two fully equipped water cannon cost in the region of €1m.
Each vehicle has two water cannons mounted on the roof of the cab, and also contains a public address system, a ram/barricade removal system, blue flashing lights, audible sirens, and six video cameras for accurate targeting/situational awareness.
