- “The V10 and V12 are perfect for operators looking to modernise, while adapting to a changing operational landscape”, Willie Daniels, MD, Harris Bus & Coach
Harris Bus & Coach has launched the Higer V10 and V12 low-emission diesel coaches to the Irish market as part of a two-day customer event hosted at the importer’s Dublin-based headquarters. The arrival of the two new V-Series models from Higer reaffirms Harris Bus & Coach’s commitment to growing its successful public service vehicle division, while maintaining the group’s outstanding service and maintenance standards.
Both the V10 and V12 represent a major step forward in technology, efficiency and ergonomic coach design from Higer. The shorter 10-metre V10 is available as a 43 plus guide plus driver, making it ideal for shuttle and school runs, as well as for urban and rural services. Higer’s 12-metre V12 has been configured for traditional inter-city coach operations, seating 55 plus guide plus driver. A built-in wheelchair lift can be optioned for each model.
For the V-Series coaches, Higer has sought to set a premium business-class standard with the interior design. The two-plus-two, adjustable seats are generously upholstered with two tone diamond stitching, fold down tables, footrests and lateral side movement. Spacious overhead racks provide outstanding storage, while LED lighting, roof lights and large saloon windows give the vehicles an airy and spacious feel, adding to passenger comfort.
Each coach benefits from a refined cockpit that offers good all-round visibility. Driver features include a digital dashboard and large vehicle command screen, as well as on-board CCTV. Compared to the outgoing model, the V10 and V12 have a tighter turning radius for enhanced manoeuvrability. A revised chassis set up brings improvements to the ride and overall driving dynamics.
A decade in service
Tried, tested and trusted by operators across Ireland, Higer–built buses and coaches have now been in service on Irish roads for more than 10 years. One of China’s largest and most successful bus exporters, Higer operates in more than 150 countries worldwide.
The V-Series models come as standard with a 36-month or 300,000km warranty, backed up by Harris Group’s own proprietary parts and service division in Dublin. Engineered for European operations, the coaches make use of thehighly established global automotive supply chain. V-Series’ engines are provided by Cummins, while gearboxes come from ZF, giving operators added confidence in the product and in continued parts availability.
“We’ve seen notable early interest in the V-Series since its unveiling at the Busworld exhibition earlier this year,” said Willie Daniels, Managing Director at Harris Bus & Coach. “Both the V10 and V12 offer operators an exceptional, value for money coach that’s not only compliant with the latest accessibility and emissions requirements, but comes with the backing of Harris Group’s renowned aftersales support. Our customers depend on their fleet to provide a safe, reliableand comfortable service to their clients. The V10 and V12 are perfect for operators looking to modernise, while adapting to a changing operational landscape.”
