- Driving instruction provided by instructors on the Register of Approved Diving instructors, established under Part 3 of the Road Traffic (Driving Instructor Licensing) (No.2) Regulations 2009 (S.I. In keeping with the Governments position in relation to the delivery of Driving lessons:
‘Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) have been classified as providing an essential service. ADIs can continue to provide instruction during Level 5 to people who have a booking reserved to undergo a driving test (an appointment for a driving test).’
ADI’s are reminded that they should take the earliest opportunity to upload any outstanding EDT sessions onto the EDT portal. The RSA will be keeping the portal open to accommodate the uploading of lessons completed prior to the current lockdown. ADI’s are also reminded that the current restrictions preclude the giving of lessons except as outlined above.
