Isuzu renews its partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union

Isuzu UK has renewed its partnership with the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) as the Official Supplier for the years 2023 to 2025.

As part of the partnership, Isuzu will supply and deliver a substantial fleet of Isuzu D-Max pick-ups, which will play a crucial role in supporting the WRU’s community department.

George Wallis, Head of Marketing, Isuzu UK, commented on the partnership:  “This latest agreement means the Isuzu brand will have been continually associated with the WRU for eight years. Rugby is an intrinsic part of Welsh life, and we are delighted to continue our relationship with an institution which shares our values of dependability, toughness, and commitment. We are looking forward to future success on the field.”

This new announcement extends the existing relationship between the WRU and Isuzu UK which first joined forces in 2017, launching a four-year deal, and at that point, the biggest shirt partnership deal in the WRU’s history. The deal saw them take front-of-shirt sponsorship for both Men’s and Women’s senior sides until 2021.

“We are delighted to welcome Isuzu back as an Official Supplier to the Welsh Rugby Union,” says Nigel Walker, WRU’s interim CEO. “We have a successful history of collaboration together, and I look forward to seeing what the next two years with Isuzu have in store,” he added.

The renewed commitment between Isuzu and the Welsh Rugby Union marks a significant milestone in their enduring partnership, promising exciting ventures ahead as they continue to unite their values and passion for the sport.

Isuzu is enjoying sales success in the lifestyle and adventure market. With a commitment to innovation and meeting customer demands, the Japanese brand is now embracing a wider audience of adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts, and thrill-seekers, expanding beyond traditional segments. This strategy in Isuzu’s brand positioning stems from a thorough understanding of the changing consumer landscape and a growing appetite for lifestyle-driven vehicles.
