Gowan Auto is the exclusive Irish importer and distributor of Alfa Romeo, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Honda, Jeep, Opel, and Peugeot new passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, and spare parts. In 2023, Gowan Auto united its suite of nine major car brands, talented teams and expertise under one roof, presenting a new state-of-the-art premises in Dublin’s Citywest. As part of this development, Gowan Auto unveiled the Gowan Auto Academy, a best-in-class, contemporary training facility, purpose-built. This offers Gowan Auto dealers’ access to dedicated technical, sales, finance, marketing, and digital expertise.

Gowan Auto Academy has partnered with MAHA Ireland to equip the academy with a range of diverse lifts. These premium lifts, including the DUO CM 5.5 U scissor lift, MA STAR 3.5 and 5.5, and ZS Square II 3.5 in-ground two-post lifts, signify a significant enhancement to the academy’s training capabilities.

Darrell Doyle, the training coordination manager for Gowan Auto Academy, was pleased with the finished product and emphasised the importance of offering a diverse range of lifts to accommodate the various vehicles encountered in the industry, from light commercial vehicles to passenger cars: “The decision to invest in MAHA Ireland lifts was driven by the company’s reputation for reliability and excellent service, backed by positive feedback from industry peers and previous users. Our experience echoes everything we heard,” he said.

The MA STAR two-post lift is versatile, designed for various vehicles, offering stable and efficient maintenance operations with its compact design and advanced safety features. The DUO CM series, meanwhile, comprises wheel alignment scissor lifts, facilitating precise adjustments with integrated rolling runways and advanced alignment technology.

The ZS Square II 3.5 in-ground two-post lifts feature a space-saving design and high lifting capacities, ideal for servicing a wide range of vehicles while ensuring maximum safety with automatic arm restraints and overload protection. The optional hinged-lid frames for flush-floor installation and flexible use of the workplace make this lift an ideal choice for a classroom environment, as it can be hidden when not in use.

Overall, these lifts combine robust construction, advanced features, and user-friendly design to meet the diverse needs of the sector, including Gowan Auto Academy

Reflecting on the installation process, Darrell highlighted MAHA Ireland’s professionalism and support – he said: “From setting up the equipment to providing comprehensive training on its operation and safety protocols, MAHA Ireland’s team ensured a seamless transition for our academy staff. This meticulous attention to detail aligns with our own commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in our training environment.”

Since the installation, Gowan Auto Academy has enjoyed tremendous success, witnessing a surge in demand for training sessions. With dedicated technical trainers onboard, the academy has expanded its offerings to meet the evolving needs of the industry. The influx of bookings for training sessions well into the future emphasises the effectiveness of the academy’s approach and the value it brings to its partners.

Furthermore, Gowan Auto recognises the importance of staying ahead of industry trends and equipping its partners with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate a rapidly changing landscape. With the global automotive industry undergoing transformations driven by electrification, decarbonisation, and digitisation, the academy aims to provide comprehensive training across various aspects of the automotive business to guarantee a thriving future.

Therefore, MAHA Ireland’s modern and futureproof lifts are the ideal allies in Gowan Auto’s purpose-built training facility, geared to enable hands-on technical training. Furthermore, the academy is enhanced with two dedicated classrooms for theory-based learning in all aspects of both sales and aftersales. This holistic approach, with MAHA Ireland at the heart of it, ensures that participants receive a well-rounded education.

MAHA Ireland Managing Director, Eoin Mallon, added: “MAHA Ireland was proud to collaborate and support Gowan Auto Academy in enhancing its training facilities with our lifts.
