‘Never mind the Balearics!’ – TIP’s FBB&G successfully complete Balearics charity bike ride

Over three gruelling days, TIP Trailer Services’ ‘Fat Bottomed Boys and Girls’ (FBB&G) successfully completed their 7th annual charity cycle challenge, overcoming a testing route around the Balearic Island of Majorca.

With a broad mix of participants, drawn from loyal customers, supportive partners and TIP employees from the UK and Ireland, this year’s TIP charity bike ride covered more than 300 kms over three days. For a group of mixed experience there was a tough combination of long road stretches interspersed with a series of spectacular but punishing climbs that were a severe test for many of the team. Some of the more accomplished riders completed nearly 15,000ft of climbing over three days in a mix of weathers more akin to the Manchester climate at times!

“As always, the FBB&G team were a truly wonderful group of people, and their efforts were absolutely amazing. Sincere thanks go to everyone who was involved this week, our fabulous sponsors and every single person that has taken the time to support our chosen charities. We still have a little bit to go in order to achieve our original target, so any extra help would be hugely appreciated by us all,” said Mike Furnival, Managing Director UK&I, TIP Trailer Services.

Over the past seven years, TIP’s FBB&G has raised more than £300,000 through our annual challenge for both experienced and novice cyclists. Thanks to phenomenal support this year TIP has already raised £50,000 towards the target of £60,000 for the deserving charities.

This year, the donations are being split between the Donna Louise Children’s Hospital in Stoke-on-Trent, a long term beneficiary charity closely associated with TIP, and the Alzheimer’s Society.
