*DAF Trucks Ireland promote from within for new Sales Manager

*XPO Logistics Appoints Andrew Turner as Commercial Director for the UK & Ireland

DAF Trucks Ireland has appointed John McCann (pictured above) as their new Sales Manager. The appointment marks a promotion for John, having worked for DAF Trucks Ireland as Regional Sales Manager since 2017.

Simon Teevan, Managing Director of DAF Trucks Ireland, explained the reason for the new appointment: “John’s track record in his five years with us speaks for itself. He has been a prolific salesperson, both growing existing customers and capturing conquest business. I have no doubt his energy and commercial acumen will make him a huge success in this new position.”

John McCann has worked in the commercial vehicle sector for over 10-years’ and as Sales Manager he will work with DAF Ireland’s sales team to oversee fleet and retail sales operations throughout Ireland.

Commenting on his appointment, John said: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed Sales Manager and I’d like to thank Simon and everyone at DAF Trucks Ireland for the opportunity. It’s a pleasure to work with a product which has the quality and reputation of DAF and I’m looking forward to working with my sales colleagues and our customers to put even more DAF Trucks on the road in 2022”. 

*XPO Logistics Appoints Andrew Turner as Commercial Director for the UK & Ireland

XPO Logistics, a leading provider of freight transportation services, has announced the appointment of Andrew Turner to lead the company’s commercial organisation in the UK and Ireland. He reports to Dan Myers, Managing Director for the region.

Mr. Turner has more than 20 years of experience in transportation and logistics, including a decade of senior business development roles. Prior to his current position, he served as head of development for Wincanton plc and Yodel Delivery Network Ltd. He was instrumental in XPO’s strategic expansion in the UK e-commerce and direct-to-consumer digital sectors. He holds a degree in business economics and European studies from Manchester Metropolitan University.

On his appointment, Dan said: “Andrew is taking over the leadership of a highly successful team, where his strong industry background will drive our further development in multichannel distribution, retail replenishment, national transport management and final mile delivery. Andrew understands the importance of working in partnership with customers and delivering innovative solutions that support their needs over the long term.”
