Damian O’Neill, Operations & Transport Manager at Euromed Ireland Logistics Ltd, Ringaskiddy, County Cork was among the twenty-one professionals who graduated from Course 13 of the ECG Academy (Association of European Vehicle Logistics). The graduates were awarded the prestigious Certificate in Automobile Logistics Management at the Gala dinner of ECG Spring Congress & General Assemblyon 23rd May at the Hilton Sorrento Palace in Sorrento which was attended by Fleet Transport.
These new graduates now join the existing ranks of more than 220 Academy Alumni who have achieved this highly respected qualification.
The ECG Academy was developed in 2006 in response to demand for specialist training for middle managers working in the finished vehicle logistics sector. Now run in partnership with the Education Unit of KPMG this is a unique certificate of excellence and is the only formal qualification in vehicle logistics available anywhere in the world.
The course takes place over 5 modules and 26 days with a combination of intensive practice oriented training and classroom work. These modules are held at different locations around Europe to give the participants insight into the practical realities of the different elements that make up vehicle logistics, as well as the regional variations across Europe.
ECG is the established platform for the automotive logistics sector bringing together logistics service providers, manufacturer logistics managers and suppliers to the sector. The ECG’s Education portfolio also includes two other training courses open to both members and non-members. The highly successful Negotiation Management course was launched in October 2017 and is run in partnership with the Negotiation Academy Potsdam(NAP) at the University of Potsdam.
