Reynolds Commercials officially opens new CVRT Test Centre

Saturday 1 June was a significant day for Reynolds Commercials, the Renault Trucks dealer in the Midlands, with the official opening of its new CVRT Test Centre and redeveloped Renault Trucks’ Workshop facility at Tonesroad, Walderstown, Athlone, County Westmeath. The Minister for Enterprise, Trade & Employment is Peter Burke, TD, performed the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The family run business, now in its second generation, has made great progress since acquiring the Renault Trucks franchise, serving a growing number of truck and van customers in the region. In brief, some history highlights of the firm plus its objectives:

  • Established by Paul Reynolds in 1993 in a 900 sq.ft. (30 x 30 ft ) shed
  • Premises is now 18,000 sq.ft. – twenty times its original size
  • Next phase of development in 2025 will see the demolition of existing offices and redevelopment of a two-story 7,000 sq.ft. administration centre. 
  • In relation to vehicle sales, the plan is to sell 60 LCVs and 12 HGVs in 2024. Projection is to grow this by 15% year on year over the next four years. 
  • In relation CVRT, Reynolds Commercials has the capacity to undertake 44 HGV tests and 176 LCV tests per week. The projection is to reach 100% capacity within three years. 
  • In relation to staff numbers, the company has grown from 10 to 25 employees over the past 5 years, with a plan to add another five staff withing the next year.
