As a provider of smart payment and parking solutions for the European road haulage industry, SNAP has formed a partnership with ELVIS – the European Cargo Federation of International Freight Forwarders, to increase the number of reliable Truck Parking options available in Germany.
By partnering with ELVIS, SNAP Account services, including smart-payments, will be available to 250 ELVIS-partnered companies across a network of over 220 locations in the EU and UK.
A 2019 report by TAPA revealed that Germany had the third highest levels of cargo crime in Europe. Seeking to identify the causes of this rise and the impact it had on the industry, SNAP’s cost of cargo crime survey found that 61.7% believed that a lack of secure parking was a major factor in the rise of cargo crime in Germany.
A need for secure parking
It is estimated that there is currently a need for 23,000 more Truck Parking spaces in Germany alone. As a result of the new partnership, ELVIS drivers will have the opportunity to join SNAP and gain access to members’ parking locations.
Often in fleet operators’ yards, these spaces are pre-bookable and predominantly exclusive to SNAP Account holders, meaning drivers know a space is waiting for them and have the reassurance of increased safety for their trucks and cargo overnight.
Fleet operators will also be able to benefit by hiring out their own parking spaces, creating a boost in revenue while increasing the availability of safe parking for others in the industry – all through SNAP’s services.
“We are very excited to be launching this new partnership with ELVIS in a continued effort to expand our Depot Parking network in Germany and solve the parking shortage in Europe”, says SNAP Managing Director, Mark Garner. “We will also help ELVIS members streamline their fleet operations with a smart-payment method for their HGV parking and washing needs.”
