Baldonnel, County Dublin headquartered commercial vehicle spare parts and components distributor and retailer across Ireland, Transpec has acquired Midland Truck and Trailer Spares Limited.

Midland was founded and run by Fergal and Elaine Mulligan in September 2000 and is a successful all makes truck and trailer parts distributor based in Greenogue Industrial Estate in Dublin. Over the years, Midland has evolved into a very successful company with a nationwide loyal customer base built on a reputation for unrivalled customer service, and real value for money.

Commenting on the acquisition, Richard Sheehan Transpec’s Managing Director said “We are delighted that Midland have become part of the Transpec network in Ireland and indeed the European BPW aftermarket Group. Fergal and the rest of the staff will continue working in the newly expanded Transpec and this in itself was a hugely critical factor when we negotiated the acquisition”.

“We feel that we can integrate Midland into Transpec quite easily and the result will prove extremely advantageous to our customers”

Fergal Mulligan, Managing Director of Midland added, “This acquisition by Transpec / BPW is something we’ve been discussing for some time. We have spent many years building Midland into the successful company it is today. We are all very excited to now be part of the BPW aftermarket group as it allows us to enjoy the economies of scale that only a European wide network can bring. This will bring us a wider portfolio of parts, better stock availability, a nationwide branch network and will result in a more competitive offering for our customers”.

Transpec was founded in 1999 and has grown to be the foremost supplier of aftermarket truck and trailer parts in Ireland. Transpec is a wholly owned BPW company with branches in Dublin (Baldonnell and now Greenogue), Cork and Limerick. Transpec is part of the BPW aftermarket group which has branches in almost every country in Europe. BPW employs approximately 6,000 people globally.
